According to the Info Sapiens study “Consumer Sentiment in Ukraine”, after the Consumer Sentiment Index of Ukrainians increased by 8 points in March, in April 2025 it decreased by 5.2 points and amounted to 79.1 points. This indicates a decrease in economic expectations. “The Consumer Sentiment Index shows negative dynamics in April 2025. The key driver of the decline is negative economic expectations. The population of Ukraine assesses the development of the country’s economy more negatively, both within a year and within 5 years (compared to the previous period). At the same time, the current situation of the population of Ukraine has not changed significantly,” Info Sapiens analysts comment.

According to the Info Sapiens study, in April 2025, the consumer sentiment index (CSI) was 79.1 points, which is 5.2 points lower than the March indicator. At the same time, the present situation index (PSI) decreased and amounted to 59.8 points, which is 0.7 points lower than the level of this indicator in March. The components of this index have undergone the following changes:

– the index of current personal financial situation (х1) increased by 1.1 points and is 55.7 points;

– the index of expediency of large purchases (х5) decreased by 2.5 points and is 63.9 points.

The index of economic expectations (IEE) in March decreased by 8.2 points and is 91.9 points. The dynamics of the components of this index are as follows:

– the index of expected changes in personal financial situation (х2) is 92.3 points, which is 3 points lower than the level of this indicator in March;

– the index of expected development of the country’s economy over the next year (х3) decreased by 11.6 points and is 76.2 points;

– the index of expected development of the country’s economy over the next 5 years (х4) decreased by 10.1 points compared to the previous month and is 107.3 points.

In April, the index of expected dynamics of unemployment increased by 2 points and is 121.1 points. The index of inflation expectations increased by 0.2 points and is 183.3 points. The index of devaluation expectations decreased by 20.1 points and is 128.2 points.
