Cinemas and children’s entertainment centers adjust their concepts

Cinemas and children’s entertainment centers remain the anchors of SEC development, but they are significantly adjusting their concepts, said Evgenia Loktionova, director of the UTG company.
“Children’s centers have become family leisure centers, the concepts of which are designed for different age categories, from babies to the elderly inclusively. We are recording a significant increase in the area of such centers – if by 2022 formats of 1-2.5 thousand sq. m were in demand, now they are from 2 thousand sq. m to 4-5 thousand sq. m,” Loktionova said.
According to her, such expansion of the audience can be achieved thanks to zoning and the use of modern technologies (primarily digital attractions). The most dynamically developing are Fly Kids (15 active, 11 under construction), Dreamland (11 centers), Smile park (4).
As for cinemas, despite all external factors (quarantine, war), they remain an anchor for SECs and have stable consumer demand. At the same time, the concepts of future cinemas have a trend towards reducing the area, with a simultaneous focus on additional services and modern technologies.
