Cheap & Aggressive

The Sinsay clothing chain opened almost 50 stores in 2024, with plans to open another 100 by the end of the year. How does it manage to do what competitors do not dare to do? On August 1, the Polish LPP group opened the 100th store of its lowest-cost clothing brand Sinsay in Ukraine. Now it is the largest and most active chain of clothing stores in Ukraine. What helps it grow faster than the New Yorker, Goldi, or H&M? “Sinsay is the largest clothing chain and occupies a leading position in its segment in the Ukrainian market,” says Evgenia Loktionova, director of UTG.

Now Sinsay is the most active retailer in the mass market segment, says Igor Zabolotsky, a leading expert on retail real estate at Colliers Ukraine. “No one else opens so many stores,” he says. “Over time, the brand will be present in most shopping centers throughout Ukraine.”

Since the beginning of the year, the company has almost doubled the number of Sinsay stores in Ukraine – from 55 as of the end of December 2023 to 101 as of mid-August. At the end of 2023, the CEO of LPP in Ukraine, Yarema Ivakhiv, announced plans to increase his presence in the Ukrainian market. In 2024, the retailer opened an average of six to seven Sinsay stores per month, Forbes Ukraine calculated.

LPP plans to open about 100 more stores this year, Ivakhiv notes. “In 2025, we want to reach the level of the current year,” he adds. At the same time, the opening of other brands of the group is planned. “Everyone will be expanding,” says Ivakhiv. But the main bet is on Sinsay.
